Place a piece of God into each box in your life

When I was younger, I always felt that in life I had various boxes that made up my week. I had my church box for Sunday, School box, work box, Physical health box, dating box, and the list goes on and on. There are so many different parts of our lives that are begging for our attention and the balancing act of placing sufficient attention to each box is not an easy thing. Something that I learned this year that has truly changed my life is placing a piece of God into every box. Then letting him transform every area of my life. I'll explain what that looks like.

When I work every day during the week, I experience the ups and downs of managing my family's music school. There are times when I have to deal with difficult people and situations. I found that at the end of the day sometimes I finished upset and frusturated. I started a few months back with saying a prayer before each shift I would work. Although the act was simple, the result was amazing. I was more patient and able to traverse difficult situations easier. I felt God with me in my work and I felt more love for the people I served. It made a huge difference.
With my family and friend relationships, I began to pray much more for them by name. I began to pray for their life circumstances and how I can better serve them. It didn't take long before I found myself developing a deeper love for each of these people in my life. I felt more understanding and simply felt God's love for them. It was beautiful.

I started to pray for my physical health goals. I had never really invited God with me to the gym before as that didn't seem like something God would be interested in. But I began to listen to general conference talks while I biked. I began to ask for his help in my strivings to eat healthier, get more sleep, and exercise. I found a strength to reach my goals that I hadn't felt before. I felt that he did indeed care.
There are so many boxes we have in our lives that pull us in all directions. We could leave God on Sundays and do our own thing in our other earthly activities during the week. Or we can sprinkle him throughout our week and invite him into every facet of our lives. He wants to be part of it.
God cares about the mundane and seemingly unimportant aspects of our lives. When we covenant to ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM, that means ALWAYS. Not just on Sundays or when we are in a pickle and we need him desperately. As we remember him, he promises to fill our life with His spirit. I know that the more of God we place in the different boxes in our lives, the more influence he has to lift, guide and comfort us. Just like God touched each stone before the brother of Jared and each lit up with his light, I invite you to let him touch each part of your life.
Do you want more peace and joy in your life? Fill it with more of Him.
Challenge: Make a list of every box in your life right now. Journal next to each topic how you will better include God and Jesus Christ in that part of your life. After a month of trying this, write a journal entry on how your life has been bettered and changed.
